Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at  Info@harryshoundsoakleigh.co.uk

if you cannot find an answer to your question.

You can arrange a meet-and-greet appointment via the homepage. It allows your dog to become familiar with the environment, while I assess their comfort around other dogs and learn more about their personality and needs. It also gives you the chance to view the setting, ask questions, and discuss pricing and care options.

We welcome all dogs, as our care is bespoke and behaviourist-led. We work with positive reinforcement, gentle handling, and a focus on building confidence, strong bonds, and good manners.

Our groups are small, with low dog-to-handler ratios, allowing us to provide a calm, enriching environment tailored to each individual dog. During the meet-and-greet, we get to know your dog’s personality, comfort levels, and needs so we can ensure they are supported appropriately from the start.

We use a customer portal which allows you to easily book ad-hoc daycare sessions and other services.

For dogs on a regular daycare plan, your set days will be booked in automatically for the full year. If you would like to swap any of your regular days, this can be requested separately.

The portal also allows you to securely save card details if you wish, view report cards, future bookings and invoices, and update both your own and your dog’s details whenever needed.

No, we don’t offer ad-hoc boarding.

We believe dogs settle best when they have consistency, familiarity, and an established routine with us. Our daycare members already know our environment, staff, and structure, which allows them to feel safe, relaxed, and at home.

Because of this, our boarding is exclusively available to dogs on our regular daycare plans, ensuring continuity of care and a calm, familiar experience for every dog.

Yes, we do offer ad-hoc daycare sessions for dogs who are not on a regular plan, subject to availability.

However, home boarding is exclusively available to dogs on our regular daycare plans, as we believe consistency, familiarity, and routine are important in helping dogs feel relaxed, settled, and at home in our care.

We accept puppies up to 8 months old. After this age, males must be neutered or have a veterinary implant.

We do accept unspayed females, however they cannot attend during their season.

If your dog is on a regular plan, it can be paused during this time, and any unused days will be banked for future use.

Yes, we recommend a trial half-day for all dogs as a gentle introduction to the environment. This helps them settle in, build positive associations, and get used to the routine at their own pace.

The meet-and-greet allows us to assess suitability and can be followed by additional settling-in sessions if needed, depending on each dog’s confidence and comfort level.

Yes, all dogs must be up to date with their vaccinations.

We can take a photo of your dog’s vaccination record during the meet-and-greet, or, with your permission, request confirmation directly from your vet once you sign up. These records are then securely added and managed on our system, so you don’t need to do anything further.

Yes, we offer a pet transport service called Bark & Ride, available in the morning and afternoon. This helps make drop-offs and pick-ups easier and more convenient for both you and your dog.

We recommend booking ad hoc days as early as possible, especially during peak times and holidays.

For dogs on a set weekly plan, your days are reserved in advance and scheduled for the full year, so there’s no need to rebook.

Your dog’s safety and wellbeing are our top priority. We provide a calm, supervised environment with careful introductions and tailored care for each individual dog.

We usually begin with a half-day session as a gentle introduction, allowing dogs to settle in and become familiar with the environment. From there, we gradually build up their time based on how they are settling. We carefully consider personality, energy levels, and group dynamics when mixing dogs.

Dogs are never left unattended and are monitored at all times. A strong understanding of canine body language allows us to pick up early signs of discomfort and intervene calmly before situations escalate, ensuring a safe and positive experience for every dog.

Yes, absolutely. You can shop online freely at harryshoundsoakleigh.co.uk and collect your order from our location at a time that suits you.

We kindly ask for 24 hours’ notice where possible, however we may be able to accommodate same-day collections depending on staffing and availability.

Yes, we do offer ad-hoc grooming appointments. You can either give us a call to book, or arrange an appointment yourself via the appointment page on our homepage from the website.

We offer a range of additional services to support both you and your dog, including early drop-offs, late pick-ups, Bark & Ride morning and afternoon transport, online food orders, grooming services, and our “Give Your Bestie a Treat” add-ons.

We also support raw feeding, with dogs on our daycare plans receiving a meal during the day unless you would prefer to provide your own food. Additional walks can also be added onto home boarding stays, including a drop home afterwards.

If there is something specific you require, please don’t hesitate to ask — we will always do our best to accommodate your requests where possible.

If your dog is not on our raw feeding plan, please provide their own food for both daycare and home boarding, along with a lead.

For home boarding, especially for new dogs, we recommend bringing a bed or blanket, a worn T-shirt of yours, and a favourite toy or comfort item — anything that helps them settle and feel at home. We will always guide you on what is best for your dog as they settle in with us.

Yes, you can book additional grooming services alongside your dog’s daycare session either through the customer portal or by messaging us directly and we can arrange this for you.

Notice is required to secure grooming appointments. We also offer additional services such as nail trims, tidy-ups, baths, brush and blow dries, and other grooming add-ons that can be included during your dog’s daycare day.
